CHN Links: Tuesday Edition

Good morning, Toon Army. Today is that weird day where we're still looking back while also looking forward.

The memory is starting to fade...

Ed Harrison says that how the players react to the loss on Saturday is the most important thing to look for going forward. With that in mind, here are some reactions: Mike Williamson told Sky Sports that the team will "bounce back." Steve Harper told the BPL Official Site that the team will "battle on." Kevin Nolan told Kenneth at Breaking Football News that the team will "keep chomping at the bit." It looks like they're all saying the right things - let's see if they can actually put Saturday behind them and move forward.

Steve Harper played Saturday's game with a broken nose. He revealed to Lee Ryder of The Chronicle that he broke it against The Wolves.

Hatem Ben Arfa told Lee Ryder of The Chronicle that he has been feeling the love from the Geordies, and he has promised not to let his supporters down.

The Newcastle-Blackpool match was featured twice in The Mirror's Weekend Awards: Steve Harper's double save won "Save of the Weekend" while Matthew Gilks rightfully won the "Well played, mate Award."

The Guardian's weekly Chalkboard Analysis feature focused in part on Andy Carroll this week. Comosredux of The Shin Guardian thinks about the best XI under 21 and naturally mentions Carroll.

The Premier League Official Site noted that James Perch is now just the second player to be booked in each of his first four top flight appearances. They also noted that the home unbeaten streak is over for The Magpies. Bonus points to anyone who knows how many games the streak lasted without looking.

The attendance at St. James Park was the second-highest for the week, according to EPL Talk.

Toonsy says that it is time for Chris Hughton to step up and make the tough decisions regarding selection and specifically calls out Kevin Nolan, Joey Barton, and Alan Smith. Lee Ryder of The Chronicle says that Wayne Routledge and Jonas Gutierrez are candidates for replacement. Ryder also has a story about Chris Hughton hinting at changes in selection.
